Using Studey

Terms of Use

Last updated: October 8, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply when you use Studey mobile or desktop apps and, where relevant, the Studey website. Studey is operated by Hnics Developments. The website provides product information, launch updates, and support pages; it is not a browser-based version of the learning app. By creating an account or using Studey, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Studey and who may use it

Studey helps people learn from materials they choose, using features such as explanations, short lessons, quizzes, flashcards, notes, and visual study aids. Features and supported devices may change as the product develops. Any interactive preview on the website is a demonstration and does not provide access to your private app account or materials.

You may use Studey only if you can legally agree to these Terms where you live. If you are not old enough to enter a binding agreement on your own, your parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you and supervise your use. Studey is not intended for use where doing so would violate applicable law.

2. Accounts and security

Some app features require an account. Provide accurate information, keep it current, and protect your sign-in credentials. You are responsible for activity on your account, except where it results from our own failure to protect it. Tell us promptly if you suspect someone else has accessed your account.

Do not sell, transfer, or let another person use your account in a way that breaks these Terms or applicable law. We may ask you to verify account ownership before responding to an account or deletion request.

3. Your materials, generated content, and AI

You keep your rights. You retain ownership of materials you upload or connect, subject to rights held by other people. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide those materials to Studey and to request the processing you choose.

Limited permission to operate Studey. You give Hnics Developments a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, store, transmit, format, extract, and process your materials only as reasonably needed to provide and secure the features you request, support your account, create and deliver your study outputs, meet legal obligations, and retain limited backup copies as described in our Privacy Policy. This includes processing by service providers acting for Studey. It does not give us ownership of your materials or permission to publish them publicly by default.

AI features. Depending on the feature and your settings, the prompt and material you select may be processed by an external AI provider or by an available on-device model. Details of current providers are in the Privacy Policy. Do not submit information you are not permitted to share with the selected provider. If you configure a third-party AI endpoint, that provider’s terms and privacy practices apply to information sent to it.

AI-generated explanations, summaries, questions, and other outputs can be incomplete or wrong and may not be unique. Check important information against your source materials and use qualified advice for decisions that require professional judgment. As between you and Studey, you may use outputs to the extent you have rights in them under applicable law, while respecting rights in source materials and any applicable third-party terms.

If a feature lets you intentionally share or export content, check the recipients and settings before proceeding. You are responsible for what you choose to share and for following any rules that apply to your school, workplace, or other organization.

4. Plans, subscriptions, and payments

Studey may offer free or paid features, trials, or subscription plans. Before you purchase, the app store or purchase screen will show the applicable price, billing period, trial terms, and included features. These details may differ by country, platform, or offer and are part of your purchase terms.

Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are billed and managed by that store. Subscriptions renew automatically at the price and billing interval shown at purchase unless you cancel before the renewal deadline set by the store. If a free trial is offered, its length and any conversion to a paid subscription will be shown before you confirm. To avoid the next renewal, cancel through the store’s subscription settings. Store terms govern payment processing, cancellations, and refund requests for store purchases.

Deleting your Studey account does not cancel a store subscription. Cancel it separately through Apple or Google. For help with account deletion, use our Delete Account page. We do not receive your full payment-card details from purchases made through those stores.

For instructions on where to request a refund, see the Refund Policy.

5. Acceptable use

Use Studey lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

  • upload or use material in a way that infringes another person’s copyright, privacy, or other rights;
  • use Studey to break the law, deceive or harm another person, or violate applicable school, workplace, or platform rules;
  • probe, disrupt, overload, or bypass security or access controls, or introduce malware or harmful code;
  • reverse engineer or interfere with the app except where applicable law allows it; or
  • misuse AI features to create unlawful or harmful content or to misrepresent AI-generated content as verified fact.

We may investigate suspected misuse and take reasonable action, including limiting a feature or suspending an account, where needed to protect users, Studey, or another person, or to meet legal obligations.

6. Studey’s intellectual property

Studey and its licensors own the app, website, software, branding, designs, and materials we provide, except for your content and third-party content. These Terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable permission to use Studey for its intended learning purposes while you follow these Terms. They do not transfer ownership of Studey or its intellectual property to you.

If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them to improve Studey without owing you compensation, provided this does not transfer ownership of your submitted materials.

8. Changes, availability, and closing your account

We may add, change, pause, or discontinue features as Studey develops. We work to keep the service available and secure, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. A feature may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, security, or provider issues.

You may stop using Studey and request account deletion through the Delete Account page. We may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary to address a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, protect users or the service, or comply with law. Where practical and lawful, we will give notice and an opportunity to address the issue. Account closure does not cancel an app-store subscription.

After account deletion, retention or removal of data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Terms that by their nature should continue, including provisions about intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability, continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

9. Third-party services

Studey may rely on app stores, hosting, storage, email, AI, and subscription providers. Their services may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for services that we do not operate, and those providers’ terms govern your use of their services. See our Privacy Policy for the providers currently used to operate Studey.

10. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Studey is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that AI output will be accurate, complete, suitable for a particular purpose, or available without interruption. You remain responsible for checking generated learning content against reliable sources.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Hnics Developments will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you began using Studey. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or intentional misconduct.

11. Changes to these Terms and contact

We may update these Terms when Studey, our services, or applicable requirements change. We will post the current version here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention. Continuing to use Studey after updated Terms take effect means you accept them, except where applicable law requires another process.

Questions about these Terms can be sent to privacy@studey.app. Copyright notices must go to the designated agent listed on the Copyright & DMCA page.
