Studey

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

This policy explains how Studey handles information when you use our mobile or desktop learning apps, our website, or our waitlist. Studey is the service name. If you have a privacy question or request, contact us at privacy@studey.app.

Information we handle

  • Account details: email address, first and last name, account credentials, and information needed to keep your account signed in.
  • Your learning content: files, documents, links, video or audio materials you provide, related file details, extracted text or transcripts, prompts, and the explanations, lessons, quizzes, flashcards, notes, maps, and other study content created from them.
  • Learning activity: saved materials, practice results, study sessions, preferences, and progress associated with your account.
  • Waitlist details: the email address and signup record you submit on our website.
  • Subscription details: an app-specific account identifier and subscription or entitlement status. Apple or Google handles store payments; Studey does not receive your payment card number through those purchases.
  • Technical and security details: information such as IP address and request data may be processed by our providers to deliver the service, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and protect accounts. We use keyed IP hashes for rate limiting on some public forms.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, store and display your learning materials, generate requested learning support, save your progress, manage subscriptions, respond to support requests, send requested service emails, and prevent fraud or abuse.

When you ask for an AI-generated result, the relevant prompt and the material content needed for that request may be sent from our backend to DeepSeek for processing. You choose which materials to use. If you connect another AI provider or endpoint in the app, that provider will process the information you send to it under its own terms.

We do not sell personal information.

Service providers and sharing

We share information with providers that help operate Studey, only as needed for the services described above:

  • Supabase provides account authentication, database, file storage, and backend functions.
  • DeepSeek processes prompts and relevant material content for AI responses when you request them.
  • OpenAI processes lesson text and generated images when you request lesson infographic generation and review.
  • RevenueCat helps manage app subscription status and entitlements.
  • Resend delivers verification and account emails.
  • Microsoft Azure hosts the public website.
  • Apple or Google processes purchases made through its app store.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or as part of a business transfer. Providers may use subprocessors and handle information under their own applicable terms and privacy policies, which we link above.

Retention and account deletion

We keep account information and saved learning content while your account is active and as needed to provide Studey. You can request deletion at any time on our Delete Account page.

After you verify the email address on the account, the deletion process removes the Studey account and associated database records and files. It also removes a matching waitlist entry. A deletion request is sent to RevenueCat for the subscription record; that provider may process it asynchronously. Deleting a Studey account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription, so cancel it through the store before or after submitting your request.

Copies may remain for a limited time in provider backups, security logs, or records that a provider or law requires it to retain. Apple or Google may retain purchase records under its own policies. You can also contact us if you need help with a request.

Security and your choices

We use service-provider security controls and access restrictions designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your sign-in details private and contact us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to or limit some processing. Contact us at privacy@studey.app to make a request.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Studey changes. We will post the current version on this page and update the date above. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to privacy@studey.app.
